This past winter, a thriving community of folks joined me for the Winter session of“Rooted: A Field Guide to Place, Home, & Belonging.” We deepened our connections to the land right outside our doors while weaving magical practices into our experiences of home. We had some difficult conversations and considered ideas that challenged us. We also had a lot of light-hearted fun. ::
::
I hadn't originally planned to continue the Rooted course through the seasons, but I'm glad so many folks asked for it. We'll continue this Spring as the earth comes alive. ::
::
On the surface, this course is about connecting with nature outside your door and having fun inside with hearthcrafting and folk magic. ::
::
But on a deeper level, it’s about living in tune with the rhythm of the seasons, cultivating a reciprocal relationship with the sacred ground of your life, and reflecting on the meaning of home and belonging. I hope you'll join us. :::: Link in profile.

I see that it's been one whole lunar cycle since I I see that it's been one whole lunar cycle since I last posted on IG and FB. I didn't really plan the break. It just came about organically as my attention shifted to teaching my Rooted course and hosting community on another platform. I feel a bit tentative at wading back into the IG / FB waters. We shall see how it goes. // My calendar tells me that today is the day to make the drive down to Aldermarsh on Whidbey Island with @radicalrollingpin to start preparing for retreatants to arrive tomorrow. Instead, I will go for a walk in the cold brilliant sunshine close to home. I am allowing myself the space to grieve over all the retreats that did not happen during the pandemic; 3 last year and now, most likely, 3 this year. I have been hosting retreats 3 times a year at Aldermarsh since 2012 and I sorely miss the structure those retreats gave to my life as well as the joyous connection with the nature beings of Aldermarsh and the human connections that were made there, especially friendships that continue to thrive. (Yes! One day we will circle again in the warm darkness of the sauna with daffodils blooming on the roof.) // I am grateful for the way that screens have kept so many of us connected this past year, and I am over-the-moon grateful that now that I have had two vaccination shots, I am able to socialize with folks in person again on a limited basis. My first hug in a year was heavenly and I'm looking forward to more of those. // Spring is here again. La Luna Bella is once more a new crescent. So grateful to be rooted in the turning of the Wheel. #gaiansoulretreat #springequinox #wheeloftheyear #earthmedicine

The fragrance to me is all about this edge, this turning of the Wheel from the crone of winter to the maiden of spring. Hope, the Star card.
